How to Create an Autoresponder with KickStartCart (1ShoppingCart)

Autoresponders are critical to running a successful online business. And you don’t want just any autoresponder. We recommend starting with the tools you can use to build a very successful online business, which is an integrated system of autoresponders, shopping cart and affiliate management. This is NOT an area where you want to try to ‘make do!’

Our favorite (and we’ve tried many) is KickStartCart (the same as 1ShoppingCart). Even if you already have a different autoresponder or shopping cart, you’ll want to check out KickStartCart, for its many time (and money) saving features.

Here’s a short video on how to set up an Autoresponder in KickStartCart. And if you want a downloadable and printable set of instructions (because sometimes you just don’t want to watch the whole video again – even if it is short!), just right click here and choose ‘save as.’

Deb, Thank you so much for creating and sharing this video! I am new to marketing. I have been studying it for a year and writing a book. But I have certain hangups, or things I know I will have to do that intimidate me and what you displayed in this video was one of them! So, you have taken a huge load of off me by doing this! I was really intimidated and confused by all of the options for creating an autoresponder when I tried, that I couldn’t do it! I heard that is $99 a month and that Aweber is only $20 and does the same thing? Is the same as oneshoppingcart and the same price and how does it differ from oneshoppingcart? That part confues me a little bit. Please feel free to email me if you have the time, I would really appreciate it. I don’t know how I was opted into your web site and blog, to receive your email, but I am really glad that I did. Thank you again and I wish you continued success!

If you use 1Shopping Cart for your autoresponder, why do you still use Aweber?
Also, my husband and I are in business together like you and Mynders. Do each of you have a subscription on 1Shopping Cart (individually) or did you sign up and you both use it (jointly)? Is it better to have separate accounts in a (married) business? Or confusing to have joint accounts?
If you keep separate accounts from Mynders, could you tell me how you do that?

    Hi Carol,

Good question! We still have our Aweber account because one of our first lists resides there and they are very difficult to migrate to a new AR. Also, we like having an account we can check on, since we often get questions about setting up Aweber, etc.

We have one 1SC account (as we have basically one business we do together), and can run all of our products through that one account. If you are using Paypal as your merchant account, you’ll have no big issues, even if you sell different types of products (different markets).

However, if you get your own subscription to a merchant account such as PowerPay, then you have to specify what you will be selling through that account. So if you have very different product lines you’ll be selling, you may have to get two different merchant accounts (unless you can be broad enough in your definition of what you are selling when you apply for your PowerPay account so that it covers them all). And I believe that 1SC has to be tied to just one merchant account, so then you’d need a separate subscription to 1SC for each business.
    Does that make sense?

I rarely write remarks, however i did some searching and wound up here How to Create an Autoresponder with KickStartCart
    (1ShoppingCart) | Business Building Shortcuts.
And I do have 2 questions for you if you don’t mind. Could it be simply me or does it look like a few of the remarks appear like they are written by brain dead people? :-P And, if you are writing at other places, I would like to keep up with anything new you have to post. Could you make a list of all of all your social sites like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?

Hi Melanie – Thanks for the comment, and we are glad you found us (however that happened!).

KickStartCart (KSC) is a private label of 1ShoppingCart, and provides the very same services. We also have an aweber account (we started with aweber), and they are awesome also.

The reason we switched our autoresponder service for this business is that we offer our own products and also plan to allow affiliates for our products. While aweber is awesome, it is a stand-alone email management service. It can be integrated with stand-alone shopping carts and such, but we decided we didn’t want to mess with that. We wanted to build our business using a system that was already designed to work perfectly together with the click of a button, and provided more than just email management. KSC does this – they have email management (autoresponder), a powerful shopping cart, digital product delivery from their site, and affiliate management. All wrapped together into one package that is designed to work smoothly together.

I believe aweber is still about $20 a month. The great thing about KSC is that they provide modules so you only have to buy the module you need at the time, and not start out at the $99 a month level. Their autoresponder is $29 a month (less if you pay by the year), which is a bit more than aweber, but then when you are ready to upgrade and add your own products, you can purchase that part, etc.

We felt it was worth it to build our list on the same platform that we would use to sell products and manage affiliates, rather than try to figure out how to import our list from aweber into KSC later.

When you click on the link to KSC to try it out, after you go into the trial page you will see the full range of options and their prices – AR only, Shopping cart only, etc. You can try it ALL out for a month at no cost.

The link to check it out is on the upper right-hand corner of this page:

Thanks a lot for your question!
